half life 1 and 2 tricks!
- in half life 1, jumping right when you land can allow you to keep all of your speed from your first jump, and even gain some more speed.
- in half life 2, valve attempted to patch bunnyhopping for the orange box release, but ended up breaking it even more. if you jump forwards, crouch, turn around, and bunny hop, you can gain abnormal amounts of speed.
super mario 64 tricks!
- in super mario 64s japanese rerelease, aka shindou pak taiou, the backwards long jump was patched. however, there are other more difficult ways of gaining abnormal amounts of speed, such as the speedkick. to pull off a speedkick, you must first do the drop kick move by pressing the z button and b button while moving. then, before mario begins to slide, press the jump button at the first moment you can. then around 1/10 of a second after hitting the ground, perform another drop kick. you should gain a small amount of speed. it may not appear as a lot more speed, but it does add up with multiple speedkicks.
- in super mario 64, if you perform a walljump on the first frame when hitting a wall, you can keep your momentum along with the momentum given to you by the walljump, giving you tons of speed. this is called a firstie. you can tell when you hit it on the first frame because mario's body does not move when he walljumps.
Here's how to make a list:
- First thing
- Second thing
- Third thing
